Agents

Agents puts AI coding agents to work on your computers. It drives the official Claude Code and Codex programs with your own subscriptions, and gives them one shared set of tools: files, shell, web search, code intelligence, MCP servers, skills and more.

Agents was IXEL Harness. It is now built into IXEL One: the Agents tab in the app, and the ixel command in a terminal. There is nothing else to install.

Install Claude Code, Codex, or both, on the computer where the agent will work, and sign in to them. IXEL One starts them; it doesn’t contain them.

IXEL One never reads or reuses your Claude or Codex sign-in tokens. All model traffic goes through the official programs.

  1. Open IXEL One and choose Agents.
  2. Choose New Chat… and pick a project folder, or one of your recent projects.
  3. Say what you want done. The reply streams in with each tool the agent uses.

If you have no accounts yet, choose Accounts… and add Claude or Codex. See Accounts and models.

Type ixel in a terminal, or ixel chat. You get the same thing as the Agents tab: your chats on every computer, and a chat where you answer approvals, questions and plans with keys.

Each computer’s IXEL One runs its own chats, in its own projects. The Tasks list shows every chat on every one of your computers, and what waits for you. Open any of them to watch, approve, answer and keep going, as if it ran here.

Only your own devices can reach a computer’s chats, over your private network.

The phone apps, with an Agents tab of their own, are coming soon.
