Goals, plans and subagents

Plans Goals, background sessions and subagents are unlimited on every plan, Free included.

/goal <text> gives the agent a goal. It keeps working until a check with evidence says the goal is done. Big goals get milestones.

/goal pause, /goal resume and /goal clear control it.

Every plan, Free included, runs as many goals at once as you like. See Plans.

In Plan mode the agent reads and writes a plan, then shows it to you. Approve it, change it, or say no. Saved plans can be started later as a goal.

A plan shows what it touches: files, services, owners, contracts, migrations and workspace repos, with a risk of low, medium or high. /risk shows it for a saved plan.

The agent can hand parts of a job to subagents that work in parallel. A subagent working alongside others gets its own git worktree, and its changes are merged back file by file.

/agents lists the chat’s subagents. Pick one to watch it and send it messages.

Every plan, Free included, runs as many subagents at once as you like.

/bestof <task> runs the task on Claude and Codex at once, each in its own worktree, and keeps the result that passes your tests:

/bestof --test "npm test" fix the failing date parser

/btw <question> asks a side question without interrupting the agent’s work.
